Our next stop for the blog is Stranger Things!

This Netflix original series, as the name states, is usually strange. Set in the 80’s, the story focuses on four boys whom one of them (Will), vanishes out of thin air and strangely around the same time, a mysterious girl arrives who can hardly speak and has a shaved head, to find out soon enough that she has abilities to control things with her mind.

With Will’s disappearance and the discovery of this new girl (who’s name is Eleven), the boys (Mike, Dustin, and Lucas) frantically try to find their missing friend. However, the other half of this overall story focuses on Will’s mother Joyce and older brother Jonathon as they too try to find Will, but discover many unusual, horrific, and dangerous instances around town.

The entire 8-episode season  features the children as they dive into adventure and fear with the tragedy that hits the town. Their acting is perfect all throughout with their hearts bigger than their minds, and their innocence caught up in dangerous moments. Sure, these themes have been played out before, but with this unique story at hand it works; and it’s honestly nice to see it done again in such a good way.

This show is definitely a sci-fi series, but it also has horror elements within. When you watch the series, right off the bat you will find that there is something lurking in the darkness. A creature who makes you intrigued to know more about it and what it’s purpose is. Then of course there is a secret government agency that is behind the scenes as well, and that just makes things even more complicated for the people of Hawkins (name of the town). With all of these different strings being pulled around, you will find yourself wanting to know the answers very quickly around the boys, who exactly Eleven and this monster is, and what is going on. The story unfolds at it’s own pace, but trust me by the end of the season you will be very satisfied. I should rate it with 9 out of 10.

Enjoy it!

If you have no Netflix, here are some collector's alternatives.

Game Of Thrones

You knew I was going to talk about Game of Thrones

The TV Show is inspired on the novels by George RR Martin, called A Song of Ice and Fire. I started watching the show in 2015 (5 years after it aired it's first season), and since then I became obsessed. But why is Game of Thrones such a popular show? Well let me explain it to you.

It's simple. It's intriguing, fascinating, complex and deliciously reckless. Essentially, the plot circles around families who are all striving to be kings and queens of various territories. The show is magnificently written and brilliantly acted, reason for it's high popularity and awards won. In my opinion, what mainly caught my attention is how many characters it has. There's not an actual main character in the story. Action unfolds under the point of view of many characters, which makes the story very complex and interesting.

The Show is currently on a break (as of the day I'm writing this), but will be back on July 16, 2017 with it's 7th season (of 8 planned). The ending of season 6 was epic, and its last episodes (6.9 and 6.10) were just simply amazing. A work of art... starting with image, photography, acting, music, setting.... everything was on point.

I recommend you watch the series. I will give it in general a 9.5 out of 10. Yes, it has its ups and downs, it has slow episodes, a LOT of characters and LOTS of blood. But it also has epic battles, dragons and one of the best stories ever written,

Hey, how about a few images of this epic show?

Hello stranger, and welcome to my blog!

You are probably wondering how you ended up here. Well, there are three options:

  1. You are the professor, attempting to grade my blog.
  2. You are one of my classmates, who curiously accessed my blog to see how my messed up work....... or
  3.  A very random stranger, who barely knows me (or not at all), and is interested in my opinion on different TV shows and Movies.
Anyhow, regardless of who you are, come as you are (was that a Nirvana reference?), and let's enjoy this ride! On this blog, I will be reviewing my favorite movies and TV shows, and give you a sneak peek of what you are missing, or about to watch.

Yes, I consider myself someone with a lot of spare time. I've got time to watch series and movies, and even after that, I am posting a sincere review about it. You are probably thinking, is this guy just sitting in his lazy ass all day at home? Well.. I probably am... but I call it Effective Time Management. But this blog is not about that...its about pop corn time! So let's bring the kernels!
